James (Jay) A. Wells, Esquire

Career
Mr. Wells is a litigation partner and chair of the firm’s Wage and Hour Practice Group.  He practices general litigation and represents Plaintiffs in Class Action cases brought under the Fair Labor Standards Act (“FLSA”) and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (“ERISA”).  Mr. Wells has close to 25 years of experience litigating cases on behalf Clients in State and Federal Courts around the country.  In particular, he has extensive experience representing workers in class and collective actions for the proper payment of wages, overtime compensation, and for work performed off-the-clock.  He has experience in every aspect of civil litigation- from filing initial complaints, to navigating complex discovery and motion practice, to trying cases and negotiating settlement agreements.  His work has been integral to cases on behalf of workers that have settled for tens of millions of dollars. 

Education
Mr. Wells received his law degree from the Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law in Philadelphia, PA, where he was on the board of the Student Public Interest Network and published an award-winning article in the Temple International and Comparative Law Journal.  He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Fordham University in the Bronx, NY.
